Over the past few months I have been working hard on finishing decorating my bedroom and I’m sooo excited to share the completed look!

I moved into this cute little condo at Yonge & Bloor back in June 2019 and have been so busy with work and life that I hadn’t been able to finish decorating until recently. I was actually only able to finish because I have been fully working from home these last fews weeks and finally had some extra free time for myself due to the devastating COVID19 pandemic.

I decided to go with a Boho design style while adding a pink accent colour as pink has always been my favourite colour (my room at my parents house is still neon pink and zebra from when I was 12, but that is a whole other project that I need to force myself to get going on). I have always loved the look of the contrast between white walls and light wood with neutrals and earthy accent colours and I really wanted to make my room reflect that vision. Unfortunately, our unit came with grey flooring which would not have been my first choice for a boho look but I made do with it and tried to cover it with a neutral coloured rug. When we moved into this place the last tenants had also left the walls a disaster so we also had the added task of painting the entire unit which I had put off for 9 months…..who knew there were so many shades of white to choose from. The room is also super tiny for anyone’s standard who lives outside of the city but for a Toronto condo it’s actually considered to be a pretty decent size.

Since the room is so small I had put a ton of planning into how I could making the most of the space and make it look bigger and not cluttered. To accomplish this I kept my furniture minimal with just a bed, desk and side table. I also used bed risers to add extra storage under my bed where I keep a ton of stuff that I don’t want to be seen as well as using hanging plants and floating shelves to decorate so I could maximize the floor space in the room. I ordered all my bedroom furniture and decor from Urban Outfitters, Simons, Ikea and Target during their Black Friday sales in November and was able to get everything for up to 40% off. Before I redid the room I had all my black and white room decor in it from University and really had no idea how having light and neutral colours could make the space feel so much more open and airy and really lighten my mood. Finally having the freedom to decorate a place exactly how I wanted it was so much fun and has me super excited to hopefully be able to decorate my own house one day!

Check out the before and after photos!

Here are some of my favourite highlights of the space:

The View: Since our unit faces South we have an amazing view of the lake and all the downtown skyscraper (I can even see my office building from my bedroom 😬)

-My Under $100 Gallery Wall (I’ll make another post on how I did this)

-My little DIY Makeup Vanity station: I love how this turned out with the brush holders, mirrors and pink accents.

Thanks for reading!! -xoxo Kristin
